After a long and serious illness, at the age of 73, Sahak Sahakyan, a famous intellectual, an incomparable performer and interpreter of Armenian national-revolutionary songs, a singer of the Armenian freedom struggle, died.
His relatives conveyed the news to Yerkir.am.
Sahak Sahakyan compiled and published a collection of songs of the Armenian freedom struggle with accompanying comments. Sahak Sahakyan was a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation since the independence of Armenia.
Under his free-spirited songs, the Armenian volunteer squads won victories in the struggle for survival in Artsakh.
