In the bulletin presenting the results of the UN mission’s visit to Artsakh, it is stated that the members of the mission, visiting Stepanakert, “talked with the local population” in order to get acquainted with the situation.
At the same time, it is noted that according to the estimate of the UN mission, the number of Armenian population in the whole of Artsakh can be up to a thousand people.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs issued a press release summarizing the results of the visit of the UN mission to Artsakh.
The message states that the purpose of the visit was to assess the situation on the ground and to assess the humanitarian needs of both those who remained in Nagorno-Karabakh and those who left Nagorno-Karabakh.
It is also mentioned that in Stepanakert “UN representatives met with the residents” and got acquainted with the situation in the fields of healthcare and education.
“The mission was surprised by the fact that the local population suddenly left their homes, which also caused them suffering,” the message states.
According to the statement, the UN mission emphasizes the need to strengthen trust between the parties, realizing that this requires time and joint efforts.
7 Armenian residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have applied for Azerbaijani citizenship. The Migration Service of Azerbaijan informs about this.
“Seven residents voluntarily applied for preliminary registration. All of them, having received the citizenship of Azerbaijan, expressed their desire to use all their rights,” the statement said.
